She came to the States in 1966 and began working at Western Costume Company shortly thereaer. During her tenure at Western, she spent four decades as the Head of Ladies' Custom Made, worked on countless projects, and was a favorite collaborator of many designers. Tzetzi's incredible artistry was featured in a myriad of films which include Hello, Dolly! (1969), Nine to Five (1980), Clue (1985), Steel Magnolias (1989), and For the Boys (1991). She made costumes for Dolly Parton's stage shows and personal gowns for Dolly, Julie Andrews, Anjelica Huston, and Jane Fonda, among others. In recognition of her work, the Costume Designers Guild honored Tzetzi with the Lacoste Presidents Award in 2004. Tzetzi retired from Western Costume in 2007, and the Motion Picture Costumers Local 705 awarded her a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Tzetzi passed away in March of 2022, but her talent and artistry live on forever in the iconic gowns she created. I C O N S Barbra Streisand in Hello, Dolly!, 1969.
