meant. I just knew that I wanted to work full time. I'd had such a positive experience. So, I said yes, had no idea what I was saying yes to. When I got there, the key at the time, she told me, "Okay, you're going to be helping us do background fittings" and "you're going to be helping pull together outfits." I've had experience with that so I was just excited and was game for it. I was really lucky I had such strong Key Costumers who were ahead of me, Kelly Chambers and Michelle Moder. Over the years, I just observed what they were doing and then eventually, Shawna asked me to be a Key Costumer. I kept saying, "I'm not ready." I had major imposter syndrome. Finally, I couldn't really deny it anymore and I said, "I'll give this a try. As long as you know, this is my first time, I might make some mistakes, but okay, I'm ready." My first season key costuming was on The Mandalorian season three, and I continued that on Ahsoka." Marcus Napuri Marcus Napuri Specialty Costume Manufacturer "Shawna took a look at my portfolio and saw what I was able to create. I think going into Mandalorian season three, starting off there, she was feeling me out and giving me little projects here and there and mainly what I did then was molding, casting, light scratch building, leather work, jewelry making, stuff like that. In Ahsoka, sculpting was my main skill that I used. When going over to Ahsoka, she had confidence in me to give me bigger projects and the first big project she gave me was Sabine Wren." Luis Napuri Luis Napuri Patternmaker "When I first started, I was a stitcher [on The Mandalorian]. Later, I was hired to be a Table Person and then in my second year, I think it was on Boba Fett that Shawna asked me to be the Patternmaker and I said, "I'm gonna be slow. I don't know." She responded, "I've seen your work." She just had this way of seeing people for not who they are, but their potential. She really took a chance on giving me such big jobs to do and I felt like that with every season. Originally, I didn't start on Ahsoka in the beginning, I was working on a DC show but Shawna called me and she was like, "Can you come and help out? I really need help fleshing out certain costumes." She was very specific who she gave projects to and if it didn't come out the way that she wanted, she was very adamant on trying to find certain people throughout the shop. Sometimes we would start with a project and then maybe we end up not making that project and it would go to another patternmaker—it depends on what the project needed."
