COME WORK AND PLAY IN ARKANSAS STATE CAPITOL B Y B U C K S A M U E L S Known for its charming hospitality and rich history, Little Rock, Arkansas, has recently undergone a vibrant renewal and welcomes you and your attendees to explore Arkansas's capital city as a breath of fresh air for your next event. Little Rock has a variety of affordable meeting venues and over 7,000 hotel rooms citywide, including over 2,000 guest rooms in the downtown conven- tion district. Explore the city and you'll be "Big on Little Rock," too! Little Rock's Statehouse Convention Center is home to more than 220,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space featuring on-site audiovisual, security and telecommunications professionals and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout. The pre-function space of the 18,000-square foot ballroom offers majestic views of the Arkansas River. Adjacent to downtown's River Market Entertainment District, the convention center is connected to the Little Rock Marriott with 418 guest rooms and an additional 40,000 square feet of meeting space, making your meetings convenient and accessible with everything under one roof. The historic 1939 Robinson Center serves as Little Rock's premier performing arts facility and recently underwent a $70 million renovation. The facility includes a multipurpose performance hall featuring 2,222 seats and a contemporary 25,000- square foot conference center. The cen- ter's four flexible meeting rooms also offer access to a 5,000-square foot outdoor ter- race with beautiful views of the Arkansas River. As a LEED Gold-certified venue, the building is also one of the few in the country to be both LEED certified and des- ignated on the National Register of Historic Places list. Robinson Center is attached to the DoubleTree by Hilton Little Rock, with 288 guest rooms. Combined, the two properties provide close to 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. When you have a break from meetings or networking sessions, visit LUV boutique for the perfect attire ranging from casual to business wear. You can find Little Rock themed souvenirs, toys, postcards and more at Shop the Rock, or pick up some local barbecue sauce or homemade jellies and jams at 4Square Café & Gifts. For a private dinner meeting or a quiet spot for a casual night out with your group, Copper Grill has been delighting taste buds for more than 10 years. Dine alfresco on the patio and enjoy views of the city or find a spot at the bar with a cocktail in hand before making your way into the dining room. Once the day's meetings end, atten- dees can explore the area's historic sites along the U.S. Civil Rights Trail. Home to six of the multi-state trail's 100 sites, Little Rock history runs deep, including the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, designated as a top 10 trail destination. If your attendees are nature enthusi- asts, they can explore the waterways and paths along the Arkansas River Trail. From kayaking to Segway tours to going for a stroll along the Big Dam Bridge — North America's longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge — exercise and refreshing views are steps away from the downtown area. At Riverfront Park, attendees can enjoy a relaxing break at the park's sculpture garden, and when night falls, they can take in the sights of the city's three LED- illuminated downtown bridges for a light show. With 33 acres of urban parkland, the park also features the Peabody Splash Park for children and is home to First Security Amphitheater, Little Rock's out- door concert venue.
