LMGI COMPASS | Fall 2024 • 39 Coast LM GIUSEPPE NARDI/LMGI for RIPLEY, who accepted for SLM ROBIN MELVILLE/LMGI, LMs FABIO FERRANTE (Rome & Sicily) and SHANE HADEN (NY). The evocative and dramatic locations found in regions all over Italy and in New York City helped secure the win over the equally compelling location- driven series nominated in the category: Baby Reindeer, Feud: Capote vs the Swans, Griselda, Masters of the Air and True Detective: Night Country. Harris presented the award for "OUTSTANDING LOCATIONS IN A SINGLE COMMERCIAL" to MARK FREID/LMGI and PAUL RIORDAN/LMGI for Washington State's dramatic locations in a touching story of memories lost and found in TOYOTA: PRESENT FROM THE PAST. Carhartt's History in the Making, Coca-Cola's The Santa Stories: The Note, NFL Super Bowl LVIII's Born to Play and Tesla's Cybertruck were the contenders for the top spot in a category where the vision of the location professional helps a director tell an entire story in a matter of seconds—or minutes—in the most spectacular way. New Mexico LM DENNIS MUSCARI accepted the award for OPPENHEIMER in the category of "OUTSTANDING LOCATIONS IN A PERIOD FILM" from actor Helena-Alexis Seymour (Chronicles of Jessica Wu and xXx: Return of Xander Cage). He thanked fellow LMs in New York and Los Angeles—JUSTIN DUNCAN/LMGI, PATTY CAREY PERAZZO and T.C. TOWNSEN—for the team effort that brought the riveting telling of the atomic bomb's creation story to life. "This one was a lot for me because I am from New Mexico and the story was a bit of history for the state and the world," Muscari said. "It was great to bring it to the screen." Winners and honorees line up to celebrate with LMGI President John Rakich Dune: Part Two (Czech Republic/Germany/Belgium), Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (Australia, Namibia), Killers of the Flower Moon (Oklahoma), Napolean (UK) and The Zone of Interest (Germany) were the impressive international nominees included in the category.
