From iPhone scouts and competing with virtual production
to managing increased workloads and difficult directors,
Chris Evans talks to several LMGI members about how
their roles have changed in recent times.
The role and remit of the location manager has changed
and expanded a great deal. There's still the expectation
to scout locations, deal with communities and support
the creative vision of the project. But the way these
are done has been transformed by new technology, like
iPhone scouting, juggling the oen-conflicted interests
of the director, DOP, UPM, etc., and handling neighborhood
burnout and complex location agreements.
