An early adopter of 3D modeling programs, Kretschmer's multimedia presentation begins with the very origins of virtual reality computational sciences at UNC Chapel Hill, circa 1984, and the advent of Virtus WalkThrough Pro—the very first architectural walkthrough program. He will then cover his 30-year career in Production Design— showing the advancements of the software (Virtus & SketchUp), the hardware (Macintosh) and the artist (John). ADG Regional Representative for the Southeast Region, Kretschmer's Production Design credits include eight seasons of the Showtime hit Homeland, season two of the series Tulsa King, the Peacock limited series A Friend of the Family and the feature film 1992. Demonstrating a "learn as we go" approach, where new techniques are developed in real time as new sets are conceived, drawn and rendered in a matter of hours. Kretschmer presents this work in the same manner that he pitches new concepts to producers and directors. Kretschmer's presentation is one of three that are dedicated to the use of SketchUp in design for television and film that will showcase the use of this program that has found a home in Art Departments worldwide.
