The DGA Director Development Initiative presents a Craft Workshop:
Location Scouting: A Breakdown of
the Process for Choosing Locations
Location Scouting is a foundational part of the production process in
which Directors collaborate in choosing locations that aid in their visual
storytelling and best fi t the needs of the scenes.
This Lab will highlight how Directors approach location scouting in episodic
television and explore the important factors they should account for throughout the
process. Speakers will share their experiences and tips for collaboration, as well as
discuss how to balance the realities of production logistics, such as cost, budget,
and time, with achieving their creative vision.
The DDI Labs focus on education and career development for members interested in episodic television and is designed to
provide current information on the Director's craft delivered by experienced Episodic Television Directors.
Panelists will be listed on www.dga.org closer to the date of this event.
