sagaftra.org | Summer 2024 | SAG-AFTRA 71 Panel Provides Insider Insights The Nevada Local hosted an April 20 conservatory panel discussion titled Insider Insights on the Nevada Acting Landscape. The five-person panel included a SAG-AFTRA- franchised agent, a casting director, and three independent filmmakers and producers. Held at the Nevada State AFL-CIO building, attendees learned what to do and not do during an audition, how film tax incentives work and the current status of the film industry. With more than 40 attendees, the two-hour workshop included members and pre-members. ● Behind the Scenes Seattle Local members tour Harbor Island Studios in Seattle on April 12. King County, Washington, offered an exclusive tour to SAG-AFTRA members as part of the county's efforts to spread the word about the studios in advance of their general public launch later this year. ● Nevada Seattle New Orleans Launches Stunt Performer Social The New Orleans Local Stunt Committee hosted its first get-together for the local stunt community in New Orleans on May 11, along with Local Board members and staff. Members and staff, including Director of Locals Administration Lisha Brock and National Director of Stunts & Safety Pat Perez, mingled, met new people and enjoyed a complimentary beverage. ● The New Mexico Coffee Connections Are Back! A lively and engaged group of New Mexico members gathered at Catalyst Coffee in Albuquerque on May 11 for the relaunch of the local's Coffee Connection meetups. It was a huge success, as members swapped tips on self-tape setups and self-producing, and shared stories about being multihyphenates in this business. ● New Orleans New Mexico WAYNE DOUGLAS MORGAN KIM RENEE ELISE FALANGA
