4 • LMGI COMPASS | Summer 2024 L E T T E R FROM THE PRESIDENT "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." –Vincent Van Gogh Greetings fellow members, The LMGI thrives because of the dedication and passion of our volunteers, who selflessly contribute their time and expertise to support our initiatives and events. Volunteering isn't just about giving back; it's about building lasting relationships, fostering a sense of camaraderie, and making a real impact on our industry and community. I'm thrilled to welcome newly elected and reelected members to the LMGI Board of Directors. Their commitment to serving on the Board is a testament to their dedication to our Guild and its future. Please join me in welcoming new members Michael Wesley and Michael Glaser, and congratulating our reelected returning Board members: Jimmy Ayoub, Danny Finn, Mac Gordon, Eric Klein, Angus Ledgerwood, Edward Mazurek, David McKinney, Robin Macdonald, Ryan Schaetzle, Lisa Scope, Alison A. Taylor and Scott Trimble. Each member brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence. They continually elevate our work with the Guild. I am truly lucky to collaborate with such an outstanding team and look forward to the continued progress we will make together. Additionally, I want to extend a huge personal thank-you to our two departing Board members, Ken Brooker and Dan Connolly. Your contributions and efforts have been invaluable to the growth and success of our organization. Your legacy of service and leadership will continue to inspire as we build on the foundations you've helped establish. I'm happy to announce that the 11th Annual LMGI Awards will take place on Saturday, August 24, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. This event is a cornerstone of our community, celebrating excellence in location management and scouting from all productions worldwide. It's a chance for us to recognize the outstanding work of our peers, honor their achievements, and highlight the critical role our profession plays in the film and television industry. This year, we're especially thrilled to host the event in conjunction with AFCI Week, showcasing the collaborative spirit that's at the heart of our industry. So, mark your calendars and join us for an evening of celebration, recognition and inspiration. Whether you're joining us in person or tuning in to the live online stream on the LMGI YouTube channel, let's come together to honor those who have set new standards of excellence and celebrate our shared passion for location management. Together, as members, we are shaping the future of our craft, elevating our profession to new heights. Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to the LMGI.
