THE ARTISAN FALL 2024 • 37 L-R: Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos as Javi, and Glen Powell As our third, we had Alex Ford, who is Local 706 and an Oklahoma native. is was a great help with hiring and getting to know the area. Her main actors were Katy O'Brian (Dani), Sasha Lane (Lily), and Daryl McCormack (Jeb). All our actors were doubled, some two or three times. Alex did a great job of dying and styling wigs, including the time-intensive locking of Sasha's two stunt wigs. Miki Caporusso came in during prep to help with the tests and to set up our background. She has wigmaking skills she learned from the awesome Khanh Trance. (We call her mini Khanh). So she ended up covering Brandon Perea (Boone), who wanted to wear a wig for longer hair. She did a bit of adjusting and maintained Brandon's wig while also watching him on set, as she did with Kiernan Shipka (Addy) and Nik Dodani (Praveen). (Side note: Kiernan I knew from Mad Men, when she was 9 years old. She was the first person I ever knew who had an iPhone ... even before Jon Hamm.) Rox Hodenfield, whom I have known since her first union day on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, came in and ran our background fittings and large background days of more than 500 people. All of these people are solid and dependable and I am very grateful that this team has continued to show up for me for many years. Generally, our work was creating oily, sweaty, dusty, muddy, rained on and extremely wind-blown hair.
