M OT I O N P I CTU R E S O U N D E D I TO R S 85 I said to Jay, "Okay, you do the sound effects for the cinematics, and I'm gonna do the music for them, and then we'll get together and combine it at the end of the day and see where we are." We had three days, there's 33 cinematics, so we had to find a way to finish 11 a day. And that first day, we finished 11 of them. We put them together and were like, "This is working, we're right on schedule. We're gonna be fine." The next day was September 11, 2001. Yeah, we were so narrowly focused but I actually remember coming in mortified because I watched what happened on September 11. I got a call from Jay, he was at work doing something. And I'm like, "Jay, why are you at work?" And he goes, "Why? What's going on?" By the end of the day, we were like, "Okay, somebody's got to give us more time to finish this game. Because this is ridiculous." I think we got one extra day. So, we all came back to work on September 12. And then I did another 11 cinematics on the 12th, and another 11 on the 13th. And that's how we finished up. Yeah, true story. This article is a small portion of an MPSE Presents: Designing the Game Cinematic video.
