I hope everyone had a fantastic summer and are almost ready to ditch the shorts and short-sleeve shirts in favor of some cool-weather attire ( just kidding for all you SoCal residents). We are thrilled to present our first-of-its- kind MPSE gaming edition of Wavelength! Christina, Garrett, and the whole Wavelength crew have assembled some fantastic articles to inform and inspire you about the world of game sound. On June 29, the MPSE returned in grand fashion to New York City and hosted, in partnership with our friends at Warner Bros., an East Coast screening of The Matrix at 30 Hudson Yards. We screened the film in Dolby Atmos, followed by a Q&A with Academy Award and MPSE Career Achievement Award winner Dane Davis. Our membership again turned out in force, as did members from the CAS, PGA, ACE, Local 700, and the Post New York Alliance (PNYA). It was another packed house, followed by a sold-out after party hosted by Final Frame NY! Our gratitude is once again extended to Kim Waugh, Crissy Kikkawa, Carol Mintz, Karen Quinlan, and the staff from Warner Discovery at Hudson Yards; Tom Ryan, Will Cox, and Jessica Hinds at Final Frame; and of course, Eric Marks, Tracie Costabile, Amelia Montgomery, and our wonderful volunteers for making this another superb event. August saw us bring our first, of what we hope to be many, events to the Fox lot for a screening of The Fifth Element, followed by a Q&A with Sound Designer– John Fasal, Foley Artist–Ellen Heuer, Producer–John Amicarella, Picture Editor–Sylvie Landra, Re-recording Mixer–Ron Bartlett, and Supervising Sound Editor–Academy Award winner, Mark Mangini MPSE. Thank you to Dawn Rosenquist, Stacey Robinson, Eric Marks, Tracie Costabile, and Amelia Montgomery for orchestrating this amazing event. Keep an eye out for information about our MPSE Picnic, which is right around the corner, and Sounding Board 4.0, hosted jointly with the Cinema Audio Society. This event keeps growing and growing! Thank you all for your continued enthusiasm and attendance. This year's panels are going to be fantastic. The MPSE's social media game has flourished since we hired Robert Reeves this spring! Please like and/or follow us on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X, and like and share our content. Social media is an important vehicle to get our messaging beyond the walls of the sound community and your help is needed! Finally, it is with great sadness that the world sound community said goodbye to two legends of our craft—Ann Kroeber and Leo Chaloukian. Our hearts and thoughts are with their family and friends at this difficult time. DAVID BARBER MPSE I PRESIDENT
