M OT I O N P I CTU R E S O U N D E D I TO R S 53 and you can direct them until we're finished." I thought about it for a moment. I said, "Tell you what. I want to bring in 20 people of my own. So, leave me 20 spots. I will collect the people and I will be happy to do the rest of the time." It was super top secret. I mean, this was so top secret that the actors couldn't even get material until they came into the studio. We did have pictures of the characters, which we had up on the wall. I remember David Hayter came in and he was wearing khakis, a white T-shirt, and a head bandana. Unbeknownst to him. So, we did all these auditions, and most of the people that were from non-union commercials didn't know how to do voice-over. They were very slow, they just weren't putting it into the acting. And I got to reading their resumes. I had just started taking horseback riding lessons—thank you, Jennifer Hale—and so every resume says that they're a horseback rider. So, we'd finish the audition and I'd go, "Oh, what discipline do you ride?" They go, "Ummmm…" I'd say, "You know, like Western, Gisage, English?" And they'd go, "Oh, uh, Western" or they'd just pick something. You can't lie on your resumes, people! One person said that she was a tongue twister person. And I said, "Really?" and she goes, "Yeah." I go, "Do one." She says, "I'm the mother pheasant plucker, I pluck my mother pheasants, I'm the most pleasant mother pheasant plucker to ever pluck a mother pheasant, I'm not the pheasant plucker, I'm the pheasant plucker's mate, I'm only plucking pheasants 'cause the pheasant plucker's late, I'm not the Snake eyes his target in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
