M OT I O N P I CTU R E S O U N D E D I TO R S 133 nna call? Recording the Red Bull Trophy Truck. Jean, NV 8/8/23. Photo: Sean Lavery. (but certainly not limited to) Alan Murray, George Watters, Cecelia Hall, Richard King, Jay Wilkinson, Mark Stoeckinger, Skip Lievsay and many, many more… He has a long history of working on many games as well, with a long collaborative relationship with Bryan Watkins at both Danetracks, and the Warner Bros. game audio department in Burbank— some titles he has worked on include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Halo Infinite, and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, all of which has made him the FIRST call sound effects recordist in Hollywood. John, though well regaled as a sound effects recordist, is also a richly talented studio sound designer as well—having contributed substantially to films like The Hunt for Red October, Days of Thunder, Top Gun, The Fugitive, Crimson Tide, Independence Day, Broken Arrow, The Rock, The Fifth Element, Stargate, Bad Boys (again … among many dozens of others!) One of the many hallmarks of his sound design work has been an affinity for mechanics, physics, and an understanding of how to best capture sound effects in dramatic and clever ways. John Paul Fasal's journey has been quite extraordinary, and as he said in his Career Achievement remarks at the Golden Reel Awards in 2018, he would like to consider himself at a "Mid-Career" point in his travels!
