This Legislative Guide is intended to help you make informed decisions at the polls. Cast your vote for public education by using WEA's tools and resources to learn which candidates are committed to prioritizing and protecting our public schools. Reference this guide to remember key dates (early voting, registration deadlines, etc.) and determine which candidates are running in your district. Diving deeper, past the mechanics of voting, this guide will help you understand WEA's values and priorities for students, educators, and public education. It will help you get a grasp on some of the key issues threatening the quality, equitable education we're fighting for, and help you understand why local school board elections are so important to the future of our public school system. On page 3, you will find our official list of candidate endorsements made by the WEA Political Action Committee for Education (WEA PACE) for the 2024 elections. These candidates have demonstrated a commitment to students and public schools. This guide will also highlight some superstar lawmakers who have gone above and beyond to work with educators and the Association on good policy benefitting students and schools. Finally, this guide details the many tools and resources WEA has prepared for members, and all public education advocates, to stay informed and engaged in legislative and political action. Please educate yourself on the issues and candidates. Please talk with your friends and social circle about voting for education. Please consider getting involved in supporting candidates' campaign efforts. Please, VOTE. Our students are counting on us. If you have any questions about how you can become more involved in legislative or political action benefitting our public schools, contact WEA Government Relations Director Tate Mullen at tmullen@wyoea.org. 1
