Halo Suite includes the Halo Vision audio analysis tool, as well as Halo Upmix and Halo Downmix, along with the corresponding 7.1.2 3D extensions. Collectively, they represent a savings of nearly $500 when compared to pur- chasing the tools individually. Designed for 3D, surround and immersive audio workflows, Halo Vision is a customizable, realtime visual analysis tool operating in up to 7.1.2 channels for the AAX, VST3 and AU formats. It features a variety of modules that provide audio professionals with a clearer understanding of every aspect of their sound, allowing for precise decision making and troubleshooting. Halo Vision can be customized, re-arranged and resized to suit specific workflows, making it well suited for both film and music. Halo Upmix is a stereo to 5.1, 7.1 and 3D upmixer that offers full control and intuitive ease. The Halo Upmix algorithms produce a natural, coherent spatial upmix that preserves the character of the original audio without adding any artificial reverb, chorus or delay. The 3D extension adds 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos bed tracks and 7.1.4 Aura 3D compatibility, along with Ambisonic outputs. Halo Downmix enables precise surround balancing, mix monitoring and stereo fold-down. The latest update makes it possible for production mixers to deliver projects in a wide array of formats. The software allows for flexibility and collaboration across a broad spectrum of project types, channel counts and output formats. Halo Downmix is capable of downmixing from 7.1 and 5.1 to configurations from 7.0 to stereo. With the 3D extension, downmixing from 7.1.2 is also supported. The Halo Suite is available for $899. Each plug-in can still be purchased individually, and current users of any of these tools can upgrade to the bundle at a reduced rate. ADOBE PREVIEWS GENERATIVE A.I. INNOVATIONS SAN JOSE, CA — Adobe (adobe.com) recently previewed a number of gener- ative AI innovations within its Premiere Pro software, including those to add or remove objects in a scene, or extend an existing clip. These tools will be pow- ered by a new video model that will join the existing family of Firefly models. Adobe is continuing to develop Firefly AI models in the categories where it has deep domain expertise, such as imaging, video, audio and 3D, and will deeply integrate these models across Creative Cloud and Adobe Express. Adobe also previewed its vision for bringing third-party generative AI mod- els directly into Adobe applications, like Premiere Pro. Creative Cloud has al- ways maintained a partner and plug-in ecosystem, and this evolution expands Premiere Pro to help fit any workflow. Early tests have shown how video editors could leverage video generation models from OpenAI and Runway, when integrated in Premiere Pro, to generate B-roll to edit into their projects. They also explored how Pika Labs could be used with the Generative Extend tool to add a few seconds to the end of a shot. And a text-to-video feature will allow users to generate entirely-new footage directly within Premiere Pro. Users can simply type text into a prompt or upload reference images. Clips can be used to ideate and create storyboards, or to create B-roll for aug- menting live-action footage. By delivering new generative AI capabilities, powered by Adobe Firefly and a variety of third-party models, Adobe is giving customers access to a range of new capabilities without having to leave the Premiere Pro workflow that they're already familiar with. Adobe also announced the upcoming general availability of AI-powered audio workflows in Premiere Pro, including new fade handles, clip badges, dy- namic waveforms and AI-based category tagging. Interactive fade handles let editors create custom audio transitions fast by simply dragging clip handles to create audio fades. AI can also automatically tag audio clips as dialogue, music, sound effects or ambience, and add a new icon so editors get one-click access to the right controls for that particular job. The new audio workflow tools were released in Premiere Pro in May.
