DGA Director Development Initiative presents a Craft Workshop:
The Fundamentals of
Blocking & Shot Listing
Blocking and shot listing can serve as a visual road map for Directors.
They are important tools to assist them in achieving their creative vision
and to help foster creativity, organization, and effi ciency. By creating a
comprehensive shot list, Directors may more effectively plan, communicate,
and collaborate with all members of production.
This session will explore the art, craft, and purpose of blocking and staging for
episodic television. The speakers will share various techniques and tips that these
Directors use to inform how they approach blocking and shot listing.
The DDI Labs focus on education and career development for members interested in episodic television and is designed to
provide current information on the Director's craft delivered by experienced Episodic Television Directors.
Panelists will be listed on www.dga.org closer to the date of this event. - Space is limited.
