LMGI COMPASS | Spring 2024 • 57 LM Kay Wilson: The Fam Tour of Castilla y León opened up a part of Spain that I was not aware of! Made up of unspoiled countryside and breathtaking vistas, castles, grand cathedrals, lakes, mountains and small towns and villages untouched by time. The Romans certainly left their mark in the landscape and architecture of the region! The city of Segovia was a highlight for me with its intact Roman aqueduct forming a gateway into an incredibly picturesque old town. Segovia Castle inspired Walt Disney, who was just one of the many Hollywood names to have visited over the years. Scout Brittany Petros: Castilla y León's dramatic landscapes, from rugged mountains to ancient castles, offer a cinematic backdrop for any story. Segovia specifically feels like a movie set come to life. The awe-inspiring Roman aqueduct, the dramatic Alcázar Fortress, and the charming medieval streets all offer endless possibilities for creating truly stunning visuals. It's a place that transports you to another time and place. Segovia Castle by Amy Barager/LMGI Photo by Kay Wilson/LMGI
