THE ARTISAN SUMMER 2024 • 37 costume and hair teams as well. Aer extensive real-life photographic research, we employed countless facial hairpieces for the men, and fully committed to the period looks for the women. As most of you know, the heavy liing for period looks is oen done weeks in advance. Creating, styling and prepping hairpieces, as well as meeting with and sending memos to all of our background actors in order for them to discontinue doing those routines that lend themselves to a modern appearance. Time and resources never came into question. When it came to facilitating all of our needs and requests, Marvel/Disney spared no expense. e standards have been set, and they have always been the highest. e scripts and goals were clear and specific, and this has been my experience with every Marvel project that I've been a part of. It may not be the case for everyone, but I have always been given a level of trust and faith from Marvel that all artists would wish for. Season 2 was no different, and this height of confidence is never lost on me. Sure, I have had over a decade to prove myself within the Marvel Universe, but the continued and oen unspoken trust was/is wonderful. Who wouldn't love the respect and artistic esteem entrusted to them on any project, especially those that cost millions to produce and have very high expectations?!? is is the greatest of so many gis when being called upon to deliver top-notch art for top-notch projects. Tom Hiddleston was definitely the reason for my continuing return, while directors, writers and creatives alike all made me feel important, heard and appreciated. Loki's journey may have come full circle, but I would happily jump at the chance to 'do it again.' Referring to the Loki series as a dream job is in no way an overstatement. A true career highlight, all of it. • Ke Huy Quan Gugu Mbatha-Raw L-R: Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino
