I F | P E R S P E C T I V E 1 0 5 It's worth sharing a bit of backstory. I previously worked with John Krasinski on A Quiet Place Part II. Despite attempts to collaborate on other occasions, our schedules never quite aligned. Working on that project alongside John was extraordinary. He is not only a great director and screenwriter, but he has a clear creative vision and our viewpoints seem to align very well. So, when John reached out to discuss IF, I didn't hesitate, even though I hadn't read the script. My past experience with him was so positive, I knew it would be a good film and a great working experience. IF presented a unique challenge for me. It was essentially a children's movie, which is a genre I had yet to explore. It required crafting two distinct worlds within the film. There was the tangible contemporary setting and the conceptual imaginary one. Unlike typical fantasy landscapes, this imaginary space commanded a balance of realism while being just slightly whimsical. B A. THE MAN UPSTAIRS APARTMENT.
