2 4 P E R S P E C T I V E | M AY / J U N E 2 0 2 4 As PERSPECTIVE magazine celebrates the 55th San Diego Comic- Con, we once again display the talents of several ADG members from a variety of backgrounds in the "11th Annual ADG Comics in PERSPECTIVE." An artist putting images together to tell a story is one of the purest ways for human beings to communicate. Comics are one of the most basic and direct ways to do that. The storytelling format of film storyboards and comics are so similar, that they are inevitably linked. In fact, many storyboard artists began their careers in comics or were at least admirers of comic art. We are however, all storytellers. Whether you are a Storyboard Artist, Concept Artist, or an Art Director; we tell stories with drawings. No machine can successfully replicate this uniquely human mode of communication that directly links the human mind and the drawing hand. Most of the great movies we work on start with an idea and putting pen to paper (or stylus to computer screen). Once again, we celebrate basic human creativity. A human artist. An idea.
