ask very pointedly, "Where IS the Museum?" almost to imply that it wasn't really happening. I am thrilled to now announce that, at the time of this writing, we have just partnered with our dear friends at Monkeyland Audio in Glendale to open our offices and start moving forward with our educational programs and other events to promote the craft of creating audio for entertainment. We will also have a few rotating displays and exhibits, as well as lectures and other presentations. Several very historic items from film sound will be on display. We'll have special Foley props—including a RoboCop footstep prop, and one of Jimmy Macdonald's "squeaker" props from Disney. Original master tapes from sound effects legends, including Alan Splet and David Yewdall will be there, Interactive Sound Exhibit as well as cut lists and notes from many famous films. Many notables in the sound community have already committed to participate in our programs— including sound designer & re- recording mixer Gary Rydstrom, sound editor & director Richard Anderson, re-recording mixer Ron Bartlett, and Foley artist Alyson Dee Moore. We also hope to have our Sound Effects Reference Library ready for visitors. Fans, students, and professionals can review in-house— on a non-circulating basis—the original sound elements from dozens of notable shows.
