With a practice that spans across various media, from film to television and new media, she showcases her ability to seamlessly blend audio elements to enhance storytelling. 7 Beats Per Minute is a documentary about freediving champion Jessea Lu, who, during a world-record attempt, blacked out and was lifeless for four minutes. Creating Sonic Synergy with Directors and Producers at SXSW: MPSE Sound Matt McCorkle Director Antipsychotic Matt McCorkle is an Emmy- nominated artist working at the intersection of sound, art technology, the natural world, and mental health. Using augmented audio, Foley, forensic audio isolation, spatial audio processing, XR technologies, and game engines, his work seeks to help people experience the world in new ways. McCorkle's work has been shown at Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, and Sheffield DocFest, among others. Antipsychotic is a project that uses a combination of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR). This combination is sometimes referred to as XR. The project uses methods from spatial audio to tactile haptic systems and is meticulously crafted to represent the emotional spectrum of a lived bipolar disorder experience. MPSE Vice President Eric Marks led a fantastic panel during the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, TX. The event was held at The University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio, Television and Film with the assistance of Board member Korey Pereira, who is the Audio Area Head in the program.
