SLX-D portables are scalable and deliver high quality digital audio, along with reliable RF performance and convenient power management in durable form factors that are designed specifically for filmmaking applications. The SLXD5 ($379) is a wireless receiver in a flexible, miniaturized form factor, and can be installed on-camera through the provided cold shoe mount, as well as in an audio bag, enabling full-featured use in any location. With IR Sync, users can easily pair receivers to transmitters for instant single-channel con- figuration. SLXD5 offers multi-mic mode, which facilitates management and monitoring of multiple sound sources from a single receiver. The SLXD3 ($349) transforms any XLR source into a wireless one, includ- ing dynamic and condenser microphones. The SLXD3 provides phantom power and is well suited for wireless transmission from boom-mounted shotgun mics. Paired with the SM63L or SM58, the SLXD3 can also act as an interview microphone. With SLX-D portables, users are not required to change the gain setting on their transmitter, saving time and simplifying the path to clear audio. The portable systems achieve this with 24-bit digital audio and >118dB dynamic range. While production conditions can be unpredictable, SLX-D portables provide assurance with worry-free UHF-band RF performance — 32 channels per 44MHz band and 330-feet transmission range. Setup is quick and easy, allowing users to start recording immediately. The SLXD5 receiver automati- cally scans for the best frequency and pairs it to the transmitter with IR Sync in seconds. Both SLXD3 and SLXD5 feature a high-luminosity OLED screen where users can monitor battery life, and meter audio, RF quality and frequency tuning. WAVETICK LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE MUSIC MARKETPLACE LONDON — Wavetick (wavetick.com) has announced the launch of its online music marketplace following a comprehensive beta phase. The platform is designed to empowering music sellers and buyers with a simple, customizable licensing process, as well as fast payments. Wavetick was founded by music tech entrepreneur Sharooz Raoofi, and is working to disrupt traditional business models in this space by providing a min- imum 87.5 percent creator/seller sales income, and extremely simple licensing capabilities. As an artist and music-maker, Sharooz understands that multi- tudes of beats, loops and songs never generate income and often remain un- discovered. Wavetick's quick and simple open marketplace solution helps creator/sellers utilize their works while pro- tecting their core rights and ensuring a fair balance of rev- enue, with unique terms that mean all parties can share in publishing. Having already attracted some 600,000 individual sound sample downloads in the short time since going live, the platform has no up- front cost and enables sellers to receive instant payouts via their own PayPal account. They also keep a minimum of 87.5 percent of license fees, core rights and a share in future publishing, while addi- tionally setting their pricing and currency, as well as the ability to cancel selling at any time. The platform's purchase tiers empower sellers to decide on what rights to grant and what terms via clearly-defined packages across six levels. Each work sold on Wavetick has custom licensable rights attached to it. The price buyers see covers every licensing type. Buyers can purchase samples and tracks to sample into derivative songs, where the publishing is split between the buyer and seller, or license in-house works for pro use. Wavetick's own in-house library hosts over 10,000 individual sound samples and 300 tracks with stems. One license fee covers every usage type, with no expectations.
