FINE-TUNING
Each step of the process,
which can take up to four
weeks, takes hours of work
and requires multiple rounds
of detailed cleaning that
removes rough surface
textures, smoothes fine lines
and wrinkles, and fills in air
bubbles. Metal chasing, a
casting technique, not only
preserves the artisans' hard
work, but oxidizes the bronze
to get The Actor's iconic
greenish color.
HEAVYWEIGHT
Each statuette is
attached to a black
granite base that
is 4.5 inches in
diameter by 5 inches
tall. When it's all said
and done, each Actor
sculpture stands
at 16 inches and
weighs 12 pounds!
Once finished, this
small army of Actor
statuettes will induce
countless smiles and
share the stage with
every honoree.
