giving VFX the tools they needed to work through some previs and planning. (I am finding Unreal models more and more useful for just these reasons —pipeline support and the way it ties locations and sets together and allows the DP to see sun paths and plan lighting.) Jessica pulled the actual drawings together and did the details, and, when we ran into a snag, we were able to find one more local, MC Matucheski, to come in for a short stint to sort out the tricky basement set. Otto Dinkelacker, the local Assistant Art Director, came on board to pull materials and details from the vast expanse of Southern Louisiana. That left trying to figure out what made the world specifically Brynn and how we could tell that in just images. We decided that Brynn would study all the online cottagecore sites and that she would use her talents to create that kind of idealized comfy world in her family house. We started with that birdhouse motif: To tell her story, Brynn could craft textiles and she could paint her rooms, filling her world with the happiness of birds and flowers. All of that meant we needed a crack prop master, Graphic Designer, Scenic Artist and set decorator. The first several slots were filled right away: We were lucky that Jorin Ostroska, one of the very best prop masters in Louisiana, became available. Jenna Huerta, who had done amazing and quick work for me on The Consultant, came on to work distantly, and New Orleans provided the chance to work again with the outstanding construction coordinator, Randy Coe, and his great team, including the astounding Alexander "Sasha" Stolin, a fine artist who found his way into our industry. He could do remarkable faux finishes plus spectacular—and fast—mural work. A. BRYNN'S BASEMENT. ILLUSTRATION BY ROBERTO CASTRO OVER A ROUGH SKETCHUP MODEL BY GORDON STOTZ. B. BRYNN'S PARLOR.
