PRODUCTS 32 POST JULY/AUG 2023 KRK'S GOAUX LINE GIVES AUDIO PROS A PORTABLE OPTION NASHVILLE, TN — KRK ( is offering a complete and portable nearfield reference monitoring solution in its new GoAux line. The system delivers the brand's natural and balanced frequency response in a mobile-friendly size that's designed for audio post professionals and engineers who move around. These professional-quality monitors feature Bluetooth tech- nology, allowing users to connect wirelessly to their smartphone, computer or other Bluetooth-capable audio devices, in addition to standard 1/8-inch aux and RCA stereo inputs. The GoAux is available in two compact sizes — the three-inch GoAux 3 and the four-inch GoAux 4 — both of which act as all-in-one monitors. The units employ glass aramid woofers that work alongside a one-inch soft textile dome tweeter in a bi-amplified, two-way design. Durable rear-ported ABS cabinets help provide impressive bass extension. Users can also adjust their monitors' response to the room and personal preference thanks to a built- in LF and HF EQ. The added option of connecting headphones to the front panel 1/8-inch stereo output automatically mutes the GoAux speakers for a silent monitoring option. The GoAux 4 has additional features, such as a measurement microphone and built-in automatic room correction. This allows for automatic optimization of the speakers' response to the acoustic environment. The GoAux 4 also offers additional USB and 1/4-inch TRS balanced stereo inputs. With so many post production professionals back in the swing of work and travel, KRK recognized that it is critical for them to be able to produce and collaborate while on the move and in a range of locations. This addition to the KRK line of audio monitors provides a solution that shares KRK's renowned fidelity in a carrying case that allows them to take their work anywhere. The GoAux 3 and GoAux 4 each come as a set of monitors, along with power and speaker cables, adjustable isolating stands and a carrying bag. The GoAux 3 starts at $349, while the GoAux 4 is priced at $419. VEGAS CREATIVE SOFTWARE IMPROVES CONTENT CREATION TOOLS, PARTNERS WITH BORIS FX MADISON, WI — Vegas Creative Software ( has announced Vegas Pro 21, a major upgrade to its flagship Vegas Pro family of video/audio editing, color grading, effects and cloud-integrated content management and acquisition tools. The company has also partnered with Boris FX to develop a version of their Emmy award-winning Mocha motion-tracking product that's specifically designed for Vegas Pro 21. Mocha Vegas is a custom version of the Mocha planar-tracking tool and can be launched directly from inside Vegas Pro. The new Z-Depth tool in Vegas Pro 21 enables artists to achieve creative compositing results and flexible video effects handling. With it, users can define a threshold point between two layers in a still image or video — a foreground layer and a background layer — and then treat those layers differently. Content creators can now add an adjustment event to a project and apply effects to that event. Then, any video event in the timeline directly below the adjustment event will inherit the effect from that adjustment event. The Offset and Wrap OFX plug-in enables users to create motion effects on video images. And text- to-speech functionality has been transferred from a local-based feature to a cloud-based feature through Vegas Cloud Services. Now out of beta, the new Smart Masking plug-in analyzes a video frame and uses AI to identify objects in the frame that can be used to generate a mask. Once the Smart Masking tool has identified an object or objects for masking, it will add a Bézier masking plug-in to the FX chain with a mask already in place. The newly-created masks are fully adjustable. Additional improvements include updated button icons, a rebuilt content system through Vegas Cloud Services and a quick-upload function. Vegas Pro is available as part of several packages and has a starting price of $19.99/month
