I was asked to come up with as many ideas as possible for a distress call hologram in the Milano ship, where the Guardians of the Galaxy are viewing a mysterious Mighty Thor executing heroic deeds through the galaxy. I was asked to throw as many unscripted ideas as possible out there to see if anything sticks from time to time. They liked what I had delivered, but I don't think any of these ideas resonated. I absolutely had fun coming up with them. Marvel Studios is always on point when it comes to providing their storyboard artists with the proper environments and references, so it's only fair I reciprocate the passion and efficiency. I was able to stage the shots accordingly and provide a fidelity in which the VFX department could take what I had scribbled and run with that. The more "dialed in" I am with my assignment… The more I am more likely going to deliver my "A" game. Through the last few years, I have transitioned my workflow from using the digital software Corel Painter to Procreate on the iPad Pro. If there are animatics to be delivered, I'll lean into Storyboard Pro; overall, my goal is to create shooting boards and animatics/board-o-matics that capture a sense of drama and timing to share with the director and VFX.
