He served as Disney Studios' costume department head and resident costume
designer for over ten years. In addition to shepherding all of the Disney television
productions, Tom also designed one or two films a year, including
Beverly Hills Cop
and
Staying Alive. His prolific filmography includes a dozen movies for Sylvester
Stallone, including
Rocky III and Rocky IV, with whom he formed a close relationship.
In fact, the character Bronson mentioned in the Rambo film,
First Blood, refers to Tom,
not Charles.
Retirement found Tom ensconced at his beloved dog Loki's off-leash dog park. As
expected, he created another tight community with fellow pet lovers. A commemorative
bench was installed there in his honor.
Tom is survived by his brothers, Dan and Barry, and his sons, Nicholas, Toby, and
Corey; and his loving dog, Loki.
