Next I have Painkiller, set to be released later in 2023, a lim- ited series by Pete Berg. I designed it in my hometown of Toronto. Set over many decades with several storylines, it was both challenging and fulfilling. As for the future, I just closed a deal on a Netflix limited series that I am excited to start in the new year in Toronto! When choosing a project, I focus on my connection with the filmmakers and if I find the script creatively exciting, I also choose to not work on projects that perpetuate damaging stereotypes. Avery Plewes I've been a member of the Cos- tume Designers Guild for just over a year and a member of IATSE Local 873 for nearly ten years. I've worked in several different locals throughout North America as a designer for the past six years. I always jump at the opportunity to design out of town. Early in my career, I was given advice from a Los Angeles-based designer that traveling for work is the best way to hone your skill as each local does things a little bit differently. I couldn't agree more. I most recently designed Scream VI in Montreal. It was a pleasure to reunite with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and executive producer Chad Villella. We worked together previously in 2018 on Ready or Not, which I also designed.
