GUILD NEWS New MUAHS Guild Awards Submission and Voting Process Submissions deadline extended to Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 11:59 PM (PT) This year's 10th anniversary of the MAKE-UP ARTISTS & HAIR STYLISTS GUILD AWARDS coincides with the 85TH ANNIVERSARY OF IATSE LOCAL 706. The Guild Awards have grown exponentially each year and are becoming more and more popular world-wide. No other awards show celebrates only the make-up artists and hair stylists of the entertainment industry. Even the DISTINGUISHED ARTISAN AWARD (to actors, directors, producers, etc.) is unique as it honors those who support, collaborate and are loyal to 706 artisans. The LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT and VANGUARD AWARDS not only bring honor to those with outstanding or unique careers but they also help to preserve the history of Local 706 and the accomplishments of our members. As time progresses, so do new technologies. This year has brought a whole new submission and voting platform designed to make the entries easier and more modernized. Not only will it be easier for the submitters and committee members doing the vetting process, but also for production companies and studio award departments. The new software is called AWARD FORCE and assures the user that not only is it secure, but the tech support staff is available 24/7 throughout the world. The Award Force platform is well known, used and accepted throughout the entertainment industry. We have also produced easy-to-follow videos with visuals that even the most novice computer user can follow, and this program was built specifically for make-up artists and hair stylists. The system is easy to use, but please follow the directions exactly. There are also new rules and regulations this year, so please familiarize yourself with the changes. As with any new system, we anticipate there will be questions.
