In Apple TV+'s series Severance, Lumon Industries
employees on the underground "severed" floor
have a chip implanted in their brains that prevents
their work selves from knowing anything about who
they are in the outside world; outside, these people
know that they work for Lumon, but nothing about
what they do there. Severance is created by Dan
Erickson and executive-produced by Ben Stiller,
who directed six of the nine episodes.
