Execu Di c r Dear Members, CDG elections are approaching and it is time to make your voice heard. oting is a meaningful and fundamen- tal aspect of your participation in our community. Please vote. This is the time when you get to pick representatives that speak for you. ou choose your future. Not only is voting important in union elections, but in our state and federal elections. We have seen oppressive poli- ticians play the long game in the overturn of Roe v. Wade. This decision has a far-reaching eff ect on our personal autonomy and will destroy many gains that have been made in the last few decades. It is each citizen's respon- sibility to vote in every election. One way IATSE members can help further labor and the CDG's causes is donating to the IATSE PAC. By contributing, we help the IATSE lobby- ists further our agenda such as the Pro Act, tax incentives, the Pandemic nemployment Assistance PA that helped our members get unemployment during the fi rst part of the pandemic. The IA cannot fi ght the good fi ght without money, and the only way to make that happen is by donating to the PAC today. The yearly district conventions are vital in that we gather with all the other locals from California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii and participate in discussions about the future of our locals and what is important to our districts. Congratulations to our Emmy nominees. T has become as di cult and intense as fi lm but on a much tighter schedule. What is expected of our costume crews is extreme, but the beauty and creativity of their work shines through. We're excited to feature dyers from our sister union Local in this edition. They play a critical role in bringing costumes to life and are a much-needed resource for costume designers. We owe so much to our specialty costumers as they help make our visions reality.
