decor details. I put together overview boards, detail boards, decor boards and storyboards. These would be invaluable to all departments moving forward, and multiple copies were made and distributed. I also reached out to one of the original rt Directors, Dahl Delu, to see if he had any original drawings. No luck there. Then I contacted Sondra Garcia at eachwood Services, who has archived drawings of many of the old shows. She was able to locate a few original " scale elevations of the main living room from the original pilot over forty years ago. This was like manna from heaven. ut as I pored over the drawings, it became clear that these were not asbuilt drawings, but drawings "For Estimate Only." Lots of "Not to Scale" and "See Revised" and "See Sheet X for Details," and, of course, there was no Sheet X. ut it did confirm a lot of what I had already been laying out, so it was very welcome information indeed rmed with a ream of my screen grab references, my " rough layouts, a rough Sketchp model, and the archive drawings, Set Designer Coulter Mcuslan began the laborious process of creating the construction drawings. Then began the process of sourcing all the columns, capitals and staff moldings. To our great dismay, we learned that most of the original molds from Paramount, niversal and arner ros. staff shops had been destroyed or discarded, so in the end, only a few selections could be sourced from the local studios. The rest would have to be sourced, if possible, on the internet, through architectural supply houses and on good old mazon. Luckily, with a few adustments, we were able to find replacements for ust about every detail. fter a week of working from home, it was finally time to move into the oces on the lot at Sony. It's always great when on the first day in your new rt Department, the construction guys show up wondering if you have any drawings for them. We didn't have any releasable drawings yet, we didn't even have a printer, ust sheets of tracing paper roughs, a Sketchp model and lots and lots of screen grabs.
