The next helmet on the list was originally
scripted as Slayer. fter getting the band Slayer's
permission to use their logo, I was informed that
Glenn Powell's character would be changing
call signs, fi nally landing on angman. e
did more options of angman than any other
helmet, assigning him to the igilantes F
Squadron. The daggers on the sides of the helmet
were a carryover from the Slayer concepts and
the scripted angman typeface was oe's idea to
connect it to the game of the same name. Coyote
is another pilot whose design was infl uenced by
my trip to Lemoore. The Sidewinders of F
already had such an amazing insignia that I could
not wait to get those snake eyes on a helmet and
one option was all it took for approval. I spoke
to many of the actual pilots from Sidewinders
throughout fi lming when I had questions or
needed more research.
