My Top Gun story begins in the summer of 1986 in
Amarillo, Texas.
I have called it my "first date" but it was more like
our mothers dropping us off at the theater than
it was an actual date. hile I was probably a bit
young to even be seeing Top Gun, I just recall being
on the edge of my seat the entire film. fter the
film was over, I returned to my mother ickie's
awaiting car and immediately asked her what we
had scheduled the following day. hen the answer
was "nothing," I begged her to take me back to see
Top Gun again with the rest of our family. I have
remained a big fan of the film in the many years
since.
Since my film career began around , there
have always been rumors of a sequel. In une of
, Tom Cruise announced that there actually
would be a Top Gun sequel. few months later,
I was saying hello to Tommy arper, who had
produced a number of films that I have worked on.
