A VIEW TOWARD THE GALLERY ENTRANCE SHOWING SOME OF RICK CARTER'S FREEHANGING PORTRAITS. D. THE BACK WALL OF THE EXHIBIT FEATURING THE MURAL FROM THE WELCOME CENTER OF JURASSIC PARK. Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and with James Cameron on Avatar. The visual interpretations of these films by the collaborating artists, interspersed with Carter's own works, are the heart of the exhibit. Breaking up the collage are white circles with drawings and memorabilia from many of Carter's films. Among the items on display are an alien ship maquette from War of the Worlds, a mosquito encased in amber from Jurassic Park, a model of the DeLorean from Back to the Future II, and the bench from Forrest Gump. The ESMoA has done an impressive job mounting this exhibit. They have a system called The rid that identifies each item with a number, that is then accessible through the museum's website, and on iPads in the gallery, that give a full description of each item. Time will run through the summer until September 21. Additional information is available on the museum's website at esmoa.org. If your trips to this part of LA typically end at arrivals and departures at LAX, it is definitely worth traveling just a bit further westward to see the exhibit of Time in person. A B C D
