The world imagined by AB, the abbreviation I coined for our creators and show runners onathan, Ashley and Bart, ran deep and had multiple facets. As anyone who has seen the show can attest, This thing has layers. What at first glance is a cool Lord of the Flies-esue high school drama uickly takes a turn for the deep and dark when the plane carrying the 1996 ellowjackets girls soccer team crashes in the anadian wilderness and a group of innocent high school girls discover their inner selves. From the onset, the creative team knew that we wanted the forest to become a character in the show. These are city girls and do not know from forest survival and plant loreexcept Misty, a two-time babysitting and first-aid course graduate. It was important to me that the production conveyed a true sense of realism to the crash scene, a visceral feeling of life and darkness. The plane crash was one of the biggest technical challenges on the series, and we were committed to practical effects wherever possible. reproduction started pretty late, so the Art Department had to uickly research, design and build an interiorexterior 2 and bring it onto the forest location, the anther aintball site in Surrey British olumbia. The exceptional construction team led by atrick Latarius (whom I've worked with multiple times in the last decade), D'd the fuselage down to sections that could be delivered by flat-deck truck to the site and dropped by crane. I was also blessed with an amazing Art Department team on this project. ne of the assistant Art T h e S h a d o w o f t h e F o r e s t Y E L L O W J A C K E T S B Y B R I A N K A N E , P R O D U C T I O N D E S I G N E R A.
