NAB 2022 www.postmagazine.com 29 POST MAY/JUNE 2022 ATELIERE ADDS INTEGRATIONS TO CONNECT PLATFORM BEVERLY HILLS, CA — At NAB 2022, Ateliere Creative Technologies (https:// ateliere.com) showcased the full range of its Ateliere Connect cloud-native dig- ital supply chain platform, unveiling a diverse range of new features and tech- nology updates to support customers' changing workfl ws. The company has added support for streamlining content delivery to two of the most commonly used on-demand services: Apple iTunes and Amazon Prime Video. "The amount of content being created, managed and distributed is immense, on a scale and pace that was unimaginable just a few years ago," notes Dan Goman, CEO of Ateliere Creative Technologies. "Media and entertainment pro- fessionals need new tools to manage their changing workfl ws. Our new integra- tions with Apple iTunes and Amazon Prime are perfect examples of the Ateliere platform's unique ability to evolve and scale with customers as they explore new ways to manage libraries, reduce archiving costs and monetize content." Using the Ateliere Connect platform, content owners can regain control of their digital supply chain and realize the benefits of fully au omating the pro- cess of managing, packaging and delivering content. This includes reducing the transcoding time for a title by 35x, and reducing library storage footprints by more than 75 percent. Collectively, this can provide significant annual s vings. At NAB, Ateliere showed the Connect platform with added support for Apple iTunes packages via Apple Transporter using the ITMSP format. An iTunes Package is a directory that contains the data necessary to describe a product: video files, po ter images and metadata, with each package repre- senting a movie or episodic product on iTunes. This new integration makes it easier for customers to deliver their content to iTunes — traditionally a compli- cated, error-prone and highly-technical process. Support for the Apple iTunes workfl w within Ateliere Connect enables the automated cloud-native orchestration platform to perform the necessary checks and ensure all assets and metadata are correctly formatted, taking that burden off the use . Delivery is via Aspera on Cloud, which is fully integrated into Connect for fast and reliable transportation. Through Ateliere Connect, customers can now also create content packages for branded channels or as standalone content on Apple TV. Ateliere also highlighted expanded support for de- livering content to Amazon Channels, allowing content owners to create their own customized and branded ex- periences on Amazon Prime tied to specific m vie and TV content. Additionally, Ateliere Connect now supports the Media Manifest Core (MMC) and Media Entertainment Core (MEC) standards, which are part of Amazon Prime Video's global delivery specific tions. MTI FILM UPDATES WORKFLOW UTILITY AND RESTORATION SOFTWARE HOLLYWOOD — MTI Film (www.mtifilm com) returned to Las Vegas for the NAB Show, bringing the latest versions of its Cortex workfl w utility and DRS Nova digital restoration software. The company hosted live demonstra- tions of both products off the sh w floo . Cortex V.5.5 continues to broaden its toolset for managing media file from the set to the screen. Key new features include blanking error detec- tion, a qulity-assurance tool that automatically identifies image f aming errors caused by aspect ratio differences, or VFX or editorial errors. Also new for Cortex is frame-rate conversion, an AI-assisted frame-interpolation utility. The NexGuard forensic watermarking feature provides a simple but effective way to prevent piracy and leaks. Cortex also includes new tools to support the Dolby Atmos format. DRS Nova V.5.1 includes a number of new features, such as camera-mo- tion analysis, which allows camera motion to be analyzed in three segment types — static, low and high — with tool settings available for each.
