would watch as the Phelps family settled down here, a typical dysfunctional family. Of course, there would be moments throughout to weave in Easter eggs as an homage to all that's come before in the classic suspense genre. But mostly, to slowly drive Pat to believe she's gone nuts. At fi rst it was unclear whether the production would shoot only the pilot episode or go straight to series. Either way, it would be a considerable build right out of the gate. In December 2020, the production got the green light. It was just for the pilot, and to all our surprise, it was not budgeted for any kind of build. We needed to fi nd a location to become our two hundred some year-old Connecticut house with personality disorders. After weeks of scouring Los Angeles, in and out of the one, a house was found that Je Astrof and I both believed was the one. Of course, it wasn't perfect, mostly on the inside, but we agreed there were plenty of elements to work with. But by the next day, another show had secured the location and was already too deep into preproduction to let it go. Back to square one. I wandered that same neighborhood and found some potential contenders, but, oh, the palm trees and the pretty houses… A run-down Connecticut mansion is a tough one in a ipcraed market. 110'-5" UP UP FRONT YARD UP DOWN PIANO ROOM FRONT ENTRY & HALL DINING KITCHEN TERRY'S OFFICE UP UP MAIN STAIRS LIBRARY FAMILY ROOM BACK STAIRS TO BASEMENT AS BUILT-IN AS BUILT-IN DOWN DOWN +2'-0" DOWN 1ST FLOOR DOWN +2'-0" +2'-0" +2'-0" FRONT FRONT PORCH PORCH 135'-4" TV TV TV C L C L C L C 28' x 15' BACKING ON ON 49'-6" 49'-6" TRACK TRACK 70' x 20' BACKING, TRACKS TO SIDE OF HOUSE 66'-0" TRACK CONTINUES TRACK CONTINUES TRACK 62'-5" 57'-7" 120' x 26' BACKING 66'-0" A.
