using Franson's digital files, saving hundreds of manhours, as the the mill could literally run twentyfour hours a day, seven days a week. he final connected piece of the mountain pule would be the base of the mountain, which consisted of a canyon culdesac that filled Studio , the film's largest soundstage. For this, we covered the 0foottall walls of the stage with rock foam panels and filled the space with decomposed granite and enormous sculpted boulders. A decaying tarp on one of the rock walls hid an ornate Goerian basreliefan echo of the same basrelief fans would remember from the rooftop of Ghost Central in the original film. he story called for the basrelief to fissure open, revealing elaborate iggurat stairs that would bulldoe their ways out of the rock and into the slot canyon. Like the interior of the temple set, the basrelief would be Dmilled from irsten's D sculpts. For this, two sets were conceived. he set with the stairs was actually shot first, and then struck and redressed as the pretransformation basrelief sculpture. hank you to Jason Reitman for entrusting me with designing another chapter of the Ghostbusters legacy, and also thank you to Ivan Reitman for his wise words and gentle encouragement. Before any key department head was hired, Jason asked them if they were Ghostbusters fans, knowing that this would help us all surmount the monumental challenges ahead. Beyond the love of the material, it was the enormous passion and determination of the design team that brought this all to life. Huge thanks to my entire team of artists and artisans in the art, set decoration, props and construction departments, for their commitment, creativity, friendship and support.
