CONTRIBUTORS Markus Bensch/LMGI Based in Berlin, Germany, Markus Bensch began his location career in 1992. He has worked with directors, including Steven Spielberg, Terrence Malick, George Clooney, Stephen Daldry, Paul Greengrass and Roman Polanski. His credits include the films Enemy at the Gates, The Bourne Supremacy, Hanna, The Reader, V for Vendetta, and The Monuments Men. Markus joined the LMGI in 2016. He was nominated twice for an LMGI award for outstanding location work on period films—in 2016 for Spielberg's Bridge of Spies and in 2020 for Malick's epic A Hidden Life. Markus recently completed work on Malick's latest project The Way of the Wind. In 2020 Markus Bensch was accepted into the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Chris Baugh/LMGI Chris Baugh has been a Los Angeles-based location manager for the past two decades. After obtaining degrees in film studies, French and critical theory from UC Irvine and the Sorbonne Paris- III, Chris went on to work as a supervising location manager with directors, including Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg, Cameron Crowe, Ben Affleck, and Nancy Meyers. His credits include The Gambler, Argo, Steve Jobs, Terminator: Dark Fate, Angels & Demons, We Bought a Zoo, Secretariat, The Holiday, The Romanoffs , and Arrested Development. Chris recently completed the Olivia Wilde feature Don't Worry Darling and Damien Chazelle's Babylon. As a former LMGI Board member, Chris is dedicated to supporting his colleagues and improving the image of location professionals worldwide. Joe Abel/LMGI Joe Abel is a Los Angeles-based location manager and scout with over 15 years of experience in film and television. His credits include the feature films Lady Bird, Swiss Army Man, Miss Stevens and the TV series A Black Lady Sketch Show, Magnum PI (2020), The L Word: Generation Q, Baskets and A.P. Bio. Location scouting is not just his career, it's his passion. Currently working in Los Angeles, he is also well versed in international locations. When he is not working, he can be found strolling the canals in Venice Beach with his newborn son and wife. Ravi Dubé/LMGI Ravi Dubé has over 20 years in the film business and 16 years in locations. Skilled in road building and construction with a wide knowledge of all heavy plant generators and equipment, Ravi loves scouting and enjoys visualising a scene and finding a location to fit both the creative and the logistic brief. Based in Romania but normally works abroad. Worked in countries, including India, Namibia, South Africa, New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Malta, Philippines, Cambodia, Russia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary. Specializes in "difficult" locations in challenging environments. Ravi's location credits include Eragon, 10,000 BC, Risen, The Outsider, Marco Polo series 1 and 2 and he just finished Knives Out 2 in Greece and Serbia. Robbie Boake/LMGI A farm boy from Africa who ended up on an international music tour with his band and settled in Northern Ireland. Busked his way into location scouting and management under the helpful guidance of Northern Irish producer Mark Huffam. After a few years of that, ended up being the principal scout and SLM on Game of Thrones, finding Westeros. Loving the LMGI's pioneering work in getting our work internationally recognized as a true craft. Tending my chickens and ducks and saying yes to every opportunity to explore this planet. Amen to that. Diane Friedman/LMGI Diane grew up in New York and, with a background in art and photography, began her career in San Francisco working in cable and broadcast television. Nearing the 30- year mark as a Los Angeles-based 399 location manager and scout, she is proud to be a founding Board member of the Guild. She worked on the 2021 Awards Committee and is a guest editor on the Compass magazine. She treasures all the friendships and working relationships she has had over the years and values every opportunity to promote the work we do. David Park/LMGI David Park was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has a great love for movies, television, photography, travel and food. He has been working as a location scout and manager for the last 20 years and finds that it is the perfect profession to incorporate all of his passions.
