We had shoppers in Athens constantly filling up ans with furniture, tetiles, appliances and smalls and sending them via ferries to be unloaded on the island. We could barely rely on international shipping as post was often delayed. Thankfully, we had a shopper in ew ork who managed to collect items for us that could not be found in Greece. As always, the small details counted and enriched the authenticity of the sets—American food packaging, ephemera, wall plugs and switches. e were helped by references from ew ork apartments that had gathered through years of location scouting and a stock of photos from apartment listings, which often use for inspiration. or the hotel scenes, we were blessed to hae the collaboration of the oseidonion otel in Spetses, which was about to close for the winter and allowed us to make major changes to its existing decor. We relied heaily on wallpaper, both remoable and adhesie, to transform the editerranean spaces into more traditional ondon interiors. designed a few patterns of smallprint wallpaper in sage and brown to eoke the stuffy, rich ambience of long established ondon spaces, in clear contrast to the sunfilled light palette of the reek island scenes. Our charge scenic Apostolos Polychroniadis did an amaing ob papering the walls under immense time pressure and with ery little margin of error. We continued to recreate foreign spaces—a farmhouse, lecture hall, apartments—that became part of a mosaic of memories experienced by our main character. The shooting style of A.
