National Vice President, Actors/Performers William Charlton and SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland were among the lucky industry insiders in attendance at the Sept. 28 preview. Los Angeles Local leaders also celebrated the opening and toured the museum (see page 116). The majestic monument to filmmaking brings the history of cinema to life, exploring the art, technology and social impact of this industry that is so dear to the heart of SAG-AFTRA members and film-lovers around the world. SAG-AFTRA RETURNS TO THE 2021 CATALYST CONTENT FESTIVAL It was an exciting weekend in Duluth, Minnesota, as the Catalyst Content Festival reconvened Sept. 29–Oct. 3. SAG-AFTRA maintained a strong presence throughout the festival, sponsoring the always-popular table reads, hosting a series of professional development workshops and sponsoring a panel discussion with filmmakers who chose to make their projects with SAG-AFTRA agreements. Panelists discussed the union difference in talent and professionalism and encouraged their peers to go union.
