I will say it again. The beauty of our craft is that
it is dierent every time you embark on a new
project. Period. In the case of Schmigadoon!, this is
an understatement.
Hi o. We're looking at this musical for Apple
and Lorne Michaels called Schmigadoon! Read
it and tell me what you think. The episodes are
short. arry onnenfeld said in his inimitable
deadpan slightly nasal ew ork by way of
Telluride accent.
"Schmigadoon!? I asked with a smile already
forming across my face.
With my curiosity super piued, I started to read
the first of six half hour episodes and by the time I
got through the musical number orn uddin',
I was totally hooked, entranced by the premise,
and periodically apoplectic with laughter. It was
both absurd and charming and oered a chance to
escape the real world and get lost in the creation
of a musical anchored in the classic filmed
musicals of the first half of the th century,
viewed by some as American treasures and by
others as What theyou stop the story to break
into song and dance Framed by the real world of
the lead characters, it oered opportunity to see it
both ways.
