This month, we chatted with Dave Ramirez and Sean Hartnell, who were recently named VP of Sales Western Region and VP of Sales Central Region at TY KU, respectively. They were previously Regional VP West and VP Central at The Patrón Spirits Company. TP: How would you define TY KU's culture and what attracted you to it? Dave: I was attracted to the passion, teamwork, work ethic, commitment to a super-premium image and entrepreneurial spirit that summarizes the culture here at TY KU.  Sean: The TY KU culture demands high performance along with an uncompromising dedication to the brands while continually seeking areas for improvement. TP: What advice would you give to job seekers looking for their next role? Dave: You must be able to demonstrate your history of accomplishments, recognize your strengths and areas for improvement, believe in yourself and be able to communicate how you can make a difference.  Sean: Understand your value; know what you do well and what your talents bring to the company. In addition, clearly understand what you need to do to grow and get to your desired next role. TP: If you weren't sipping TY KU, you would be drinking…  Dave: When I am not enjoying a super-premium saké or soju, I am drinking good old H2O.  Sean: Same here: I drink bottled water. 14  /  the tasting panel  /  july 2013 TP0713_001-33.indd 14 6/24/13 5:33 PM
