Locations to watch for: Farmhouse Compound The Scotsdale Heritage Farm in Georgetown includes an area with historic buildings, barns and rolling hayfi elds—the perfect setting for a seemingly blissful refuge that turns violent. Detention Center The brutalist-style architecture at the University of Toronto, Scarborough campus, reflects the cold effi ciency of the Gilead regime. International Criminal Court The Kaneff Centre's cavernous hall, located on the University of Toronto, Mississauga campus, was transformed as the site for a chilling trial. War-torn Chicago The ravaged streets of the Windy City were imagined in downtown Brantford, Ontario. In Hamilton, Skylights Stelco Steel and Ottawa Street also worked—with a CG skyline dropped in. LUPIN LM Thomas de Sambi Scout Valérie Segond Take a wild ride through a Paris we know, and one we have never seen before. In this electrifying French crime-caper, Assane Diop, the son of a Senegalese immigrant, sets out to avenge his father's wrongful death. Inspired by the famed stories of the fi ctional "gentleman thief" Lupin, he uses his charisma, skills as a thief and mastery of disguise to expose the wealthy family who framed his father years earlier. What the locations say about story: The creative mandate was to provide an angle on the Paris that would show just how much Assane works the city to achieve his goal. The threads of story and action are interwoven into the practical locations, taking us into the wealthy, traditional world of the Pellegrini family and the grittier working-class environs of Assane. A dashing and imposing fi gure, Assane's intricate schemes intersect with a fi ctional narrative that off ers clues to places that are very specifi c to Paris—for those clever enough to decipher them! What the location manager says: "Paris, City of Light! We all have a vision of Paris from tourism, fi lm and documentaries. Here, we discover Lupin's Paris: contemporary, secret, grandiose, discreet, magic! The city is full of secret corners and majestic monuments, two ideal elements for the character of Lupin. The centuries of history of the most beautiful city off er an inexhaustible perspective for this new hero of modern times." Locations to watch for: The Louvre The magnifi cent galleries and the I.M. Pei- designed glass pyramid and lobby below are the setting for a fantastic and complicated jewel heist that is a mind-blowing use of the iconic museum and sets the tone for all that follows. Paris' Famed Grey Rooftops with their distinctive clay chimneys, provide a dizzying landscape for a breathtaking chase scene high above Paris. Étretat The picturesque seaside town is known for its annual festival celebrating Lupin's author, Maurice Leblanc. With festival visitors all sporting the cape and top hat of the literary "gentleman thief," the setting is crucial to a key plot point as fi ction and reality collide. The Pellegrini Estate instantly telegraphs wealth and privilege. Interiors were fi lmed at a chateau outside Paris, interiors at the Musée Nissim de Camondo, a historic museum of French decorative arts. Assane's Apartment Created in the attic of a high school located next to Anvers Square, the Parisian landmark Basilica of Sacré-Cœur can be seen from his window. In this unique space, Assane plans and plots. Benjamin's Antique Store Assane's old school friend and accomplice owns an antiques shop where they fence his stolen goods. The real-life shop is situated in Paris on Rue des Rosiers, and forms part of the well-known antique flea market area of Les Puces of Saint-Ouen—a location gem. THE MOSQUITO COAST LM Eric Stangeland/LMGI - U.S. LM Robert Lepucki/LMGI - U.S. LM Horacio Rodriguez/LMGI - Mexico LM Isaias Galicia Morales - Mexico The Fox family is on the run: from the rural outskirts of LA to the deserts, cities and dusty towns of Mexico. This slow-burn adventure is about an eccentric idealistic inventor who is pursued fi rst by the U.S. government and then the cartel. He promises an escape to paradise but leads the family on a paranoid delusional journey across the border that is anything but. What the locations say about story: Striving for authenticity, the California locations provide the perfect place for the family to hide from a mysterious criminal past. The house where the family lives, and the inventor tinkers, are in the middle of nowhere. In an ironic twist of reverse-immigration, the family escapes into Mexico, enduring a harrowing trek across the desert. They flee from a massive hacienda belonging to a cartel and hole up in a Mexico City hotel before making their way to the coast. The family's precarious predicament is constantly reinforced by the textured reality of every place they pass through. What the location managers say: LA "The locations in LA were purposely chosen to show remoteness and to express the characters' removal from society and distrust of the public norm. Life is a struggle for this family and the locations had to express this struggle. No place could look easy to live or work in." Mexico "The country had to play for a challenging desert, an enormous busy city and a tropical little town. Mexico City and Guadalajara locations show the massive panorama of the big city, with all its architecture, art, tradition, churches and people. The plazas, markets, alley, an old abandoned house create a visually rich world." Locations to watch for: The Fox Family Home An isolated, weathered farmhouse compound in Piru, hidden behind trees, surrounded by fi elds and fruit trees, and set way back off a main road is the perfect low-profi le base for this paranoid, self- suffi cient and creative family. The Asparagus Farm Unique and stunning giant glass greenhouses surrounded by fi elds in Camarillo play for the remote facility where Dad Fox works as a maintenance engineer. Drone shots sweep in and out of an intricate maze of hanging pipes to show hundreds Lupin LUPIN LM Thomas de Sambi Scout Valérie Segond Take a wild ride through a Paris we know, and one we have never seen before.
