Long before cinematic universes
drove Hollywood, we thought of outer
space as a place filled with wonder
and intrigue. Star Trek has been
essential viewing in my family since
1966, thanks to my father, Neil Marks,
who has been an avid fan since long
before I was born. The show's themes
of hope, purpose, exploration, and
resolving political differences are
truly timeless. After many decades as
fans, my father and I were overjoyed
to speak with Star Trek: Discovery
and Star Trek: Picard supervising
sound editor Matthew Taylor and
sound designer Tim Farrell about
their work on both shows. Hopefully
this is far from our final frontier.
Picard looks on
over his vineyard.
