PEOPLE www.postmagazine.com 44 POST JULY/AUG 2021 STEPHEN GOALBY Framestore, the Oscar- and BAFTA-winning VFX stu- dio in London, has promoted Stephen Goalby to head of design, UK, a role that will see him lead the design team as the studio continues to expand the division. Goalby joined Framestore in 2016 and has played a key role across film, episodic and immersive projects. His credits include work with brands and IP such as Coca-Cola, Google and UEFA. Most recently, he worked on the title sequence for the James Bond film, No Time to Die, and with both Universal Creative and Walt Disney Imagineering on attractions and experiences based in Beijing, Hollywood and Orlando. TIA PERKINS Carbon has welcomed Tia Perkins as head of production. A multi-skilled leader, Perkins joins the New York City creative studio from The Mill, where she spent 12 years. As senior content producer for Mill+, she helped build the studio's in-house directo- rial offering. Perkins is known for her collaborative and sup- portive leadership style. In her new role, she will focus on fostering agency and brand relationships, and build the studio's growing team of artists, designers and directors. MICHAEL GRANT San Francisco's Avocados and Coconuts recently welcomed Michael Grant to the creative produc- tion agency as creative director. Grant has served as a creative director and copywriter on TV, print, social, digital and experiential projects for brands that include Pepsi, The North Face, Sun Valley, Trulia, Amazon, Muscle Milk, Google and Square, among others. At Avocados and Coconuts, he will work closely with Amani King, who was promoted to executive creative director, and founder/executive producer Dalia Burde. Grant was most recently freelancing as an associate creative director and copywriter at various agencies and brands, including Godfrey Dadich, Huge, LinkedIn, Bonfire Labs and Airbnb. Prior to that, he was associate creative director and senior copywriter at Mekanism, where he worked on TV, web and social campaigns. THEO GLUCK Visual Data Media Services, a global provider of me- dia services, distribution and content management, is expanding its media supply chain capabilities with the addition of industry veteran Theo Gluck, who joins the Burbank, CA, company as director of library resto- ration and preservation. A respected film historian and title management professional, Gluck joins Visual Data from The Walt Disney Studios. He will focus on growing the company's restoration business to serve the increasing global demand for diverse media across multiple platforms. BRENT LANG Creative marketing agency Compadre in Culver City, CA, has promoted Brent Lang to director of business development. He was previously a producer at the agency, a role he's held since its launch in 2019. As di- rector of business development, Lang will be respon- sible for identifying and developing opportunities for the agency's core capabilities in brand strategy, mar- keting, design and production for clients in entertainment, technology, health & wellness, sports and beyond. JUSTIN 'Q' QUAGLIATA Editor Justin 'Q' Quagliata has joined the bicoastal Union Editorial. Previous affiliated with NO6 and Cosmo Street, Q's work has been honored with the Cannes Grand Prix For Good, as well as D&AD, AICP and Webby Awards. After graduating from the University of Iowa, where he studied film, journalism and communications, Q pur- suec the craft of film editing. He began his career in Chicago, but moved home to New York and eventually found his way to Cosmo Street. He joined NO6 in 2010. Some of his recent work includes E*Trade's Workout spot, which featured the theme from The Karate Kid, March For Our Lives' Generation Lockdown, a diverse campaign for JBL, and the maiden campaign for Rhythm Energy. PHIL POLI Goldcrest Post in New York City has appointed Phil Poli director of engineering. A 20-year industry veteran, Poli will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining and developing technology and infrastructure for the facility. Formerly with Light Iron, Poli has also held engi- neering posts with Deluxe and Company 3 in New York. He is an expert in workflows for dailies, editorial, color grading, deliverables and other post services, as well as color science and media formats. His aim will be to keep Goldcrest ahead of the curve in terms of meeting the industry's evolving workflow requirements. He will also work to expand Goldcrest's remote services. ESTELLE MCGECHIE Estelle McGechie has joined the Atomos Limited team as chief product officer, a newly-created role at the Melbourne, Australia company. Australian-born, McGechie has enjoyed a successful career in the United States, with roles at numerous media, enter- tainment and product companies, including The Walt Disney Company, Apple and Logitech. During her time at Apple, she was employed as a senior manager, overseeing worldwide product development and marketing of professional video applica- tions, including the management of technologies such as XML, FxPlug, Workflow Extensions, and Apple ProRes and ProRes Raw. Most recently, she was vice president of marketing at Frame.io, the cloud-based video collaboration platform. In her new role, McGechie will have responsibility for all Atomos products, with a focus on evolving software and services. She is based in Silicon Valley.
