PEOPLE www.postmagazine.com 32 POST JAN/FEB 2021 DIANA COLELLA Long-time Autodesk employee Diana Colella has been promoted to senior vice president of the com- pany's media & entertainment (M&E) vertical solu- tions group, which oversees collections of tools used in both film and television production and videogame development. Colella's history with the company dates back to 1999, when Autodesk acquired Discreet Logic. In her new role, she will be responsible for increasing the visibility and strategic focus of Autodesk's M&E efforts, and ultimately, leading growth in the industry. She is based in Montreal. ARTEMIS OIKONOMOPOULOU VFX supervisor Artemis Oikonomopoulou has joined Cinesite in London, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in film. She comes to the studio after having just completed work on the sci-fi thriller Infinite. Prior to that, she was the visual effects super- visor for Mermaid 2, the sequel to the all-time highest grossing film at the Chinese box office. Throughout her career Oikonomopoulou has held various supervisor roles across a range of feature films, including Venom, Thor: Ragnarok, Annihilation and Ant-Man. In June, she was acknowledged for her career contributions by being elected a new member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. EDUARDO MENDOZA One Union Recording Studios in San Francisco has added senior engineer Eduardo Mendoza to its mix staff. He arrives from a similar post with Facebook and brings more than 15 years of experience in audio recording, editing and mixing for broadcast, digital, corporate and other media. At Facebook, Mendoza led an audio voice team and oversaw studio up- grades. He previously spent four years at Pandora/SiriusXM, and earlier in his career, worked at Polarity Post. LAUREN MCCALLUM, JASMIN HASEL Scanline VFX in London con- tinues to expand its European presence with the recent ap- pointment of Lauren McCallum (left) as head of production, Europe, and the promotion of Jasmin Hasel (right) to executive producer, Europe. Scanline currently has three physical European studios in Munich, Stuttgart and London, as well as a growing number of artists working remotely across Europe. In March of 2020, all Scanline studios transitioned to remote working. Together, McCallum and Hasel are focused on Scanline's continued growth in the European market, managing over 130 artists. GARETH SPENSLEY Gareth Spensley has joined London's Company 3 as senior colorist. He comes to the studio from Molinare, where he established a reputation as a versatile colorist across both episodic television and feature films. Spensley has colored some of the UK's biggest name episodic dramas, including Doctor Who, The Durrells and the critically acclaimed Killing Eve and Bodyguard. Recently, he colored Florian Zeller's The Father and Wes Anderson's eagerly anticipated The French Dispatch. RAASHI SIKKA Ubisoft has named Raashi Sikka VP, global diversity & inclusion. Based in Paris, she will have an explicit and broad mandate to lead and implement changes that touch on key areas of Ubisoft's operations and its business, and will champion, promote and develop inclusion strategies and diversity initiatives across the group's global footprint. Sikka previously served as head of diversity and inclusion across the EMEA and APAC regions at Uber, as well as globally for the Uber Eats business. JOHN SNOW John Snow, Sr., FPGA architect at Cobalt Digital in Champaign, IL, is the recipient of SMPTE's Excellence in Standards Award in recognition of his long-stand- ing participation and leadership in the SMPTE Standards Community. Snow was honored during the Annual SMPTE Awards Gala, which included a virtual ceremony and social reception last November. The Excellence in Standards award recognizes individuals or companies who have been actively involved in advancing SMPTE standards activities and processes. Snow's accomplishments include designing computer graphics systems for flight simulators, participating in a project that resulted in lowering the cost of SDI interfaces for the broadcast industry, and holding two patents in the area of high-speed serial interfaces. NICHOLAS LAREAU Nice Shoes in New York City has added colorist Nicholas Lareau to its roster. He joins the creative production studio following a successful run at Light Iron, and two years further building his reel as a freelancer. Lareau brings more than a decade of color grading experience. He started his career in sports broadcasting, before winning an internship with NBC in Vancouver for the Olympics, where he worked as a production assistant. He then moved to LA to pursue his passion for film and digital photography, spending time at Alternative Rentals Digital Cinema. In 2011, Lareau joined Light Iron, where he spent nearly 10 years. Since 2019, Lareau has been work- ing as a freelance colorist.
